Ahista Stories is a South Asian sustainable fashion community
Since 2023, Ahista Stories has been building a sustainable fashion community for South Asians in the UK. Through digital content and live events, we explore how unsustainable the fashion industry is and the practical steps that each of us can take to change it.
Delivered by and for South Asians, Ahista Stories workshops celebrate mending techniques and heritage crafts, while talks and collective action sessions tackle the root causes of hyper consumption and exploitation in fashion. Ahista Stories is run by a team of volunteers: Zainab, Cynthia and Zahrah.

AHISTA STORIES LIVE 2025
Ahista Stories Live is London’s only South Asian sustainable fashion festival. Taking place annually in October in East London, Ahista Stories Live holds space for reflection, action and solidarity through a packed programme of workshops and educational talks.
